Samsung Electronics will partner with Teleste to demonstrate the breakthrough cruise communication technology at the Seatrade 2016 conference
At last month’s Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2016 conference in Amsterdam, Samsung Electronics introduced the world’s first Docsis-embedded television for hospitality users. The HE694 TV, in combination with Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS), delivers Smart system capabilities, high speed Internet and interactive content throughout an entire group of rooms using Coax infrastructure. As a result, operators of luxury hotels, cruise ships and other multi-room environments can create a more engaging guest room experience without significant technology investment.
Recently Samsung Electronics announced a partnership with Teleste, a Finnish provider of broadband video and data communication systems, to incorporate its services as part of the Docsis-based HE694 TV. The partnership will ensure more efficient IP service delivery across cruise quarters and similar hospitality settings.
“Equipped with the capabilities of Teleste DOCSIS Access Hub (DAH) and Docsis HTV, Samsung’s HE694 television enables hospitality businesses dependent on Coax network to easily convert traditional TVs with external STB into full IP interactive infotainment solutions,” said Piotr Lipiec, Senior Business Development Manager, Hospitality TV, Europe at Samsung Electronics. “The Docsis-powered HE694 display enhances the guest experience with minimal infrastructure investment required. This all-in-one technology also delivers significant savings on power consumption in a typically high-use environment, while also preventing operators from having to return ships to drydock to upgrade cabin technology.”
Samsung Electronics, a gold member of CLIA Worldwide, will partner with Teleste to demonstrate this breakthrough cruise communication technology at the Seatrade 2016 conference, taking place March 14-17 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. To learn more about the HE694 system and view the complete multi-room connectivity offerings from Samsung and Teleste, visit booth FC220 at Seatrade 2016.
